I love these clamps. I am anxiously awaiting the day that they have a non-marring version.
I’m was halfway through a run of parts that were fighting me to no end. I switched from a solid carbide 3/4” Dorian bar to an MAQ 3/4" vibration damped with the same parameters. The part on the right in the picture below is the result.
Really appreciate all the help from you guys.
Very soft shirt, graphics are very vivid. I’ve been making better parts because of this shirt
The videos you see online of these bars are the real thing. I've had the same experience in my shop. Just today we machined some parts with a bore 5.5" deep. We used a 3/4" boring bar with a 5.75 stickout. Didn't even change the finishing feeds and speeds from what we would normally run. Roughed and finished with the same bar. It actually broke a chip too! We're willing to do parts that we would have avoided before.
We were struggling to get good finishes and tool life in a bronze alloy recently. We had been using a comparable DCGT insert from a reputable company with very little success. We could only get one or two parts before having to rotate the insert to a new edge. We were also running recommended speeds and feeds from this other vendor. Octane suggested we try these Arno inserts for non-ferrous. We were skeptical at first as the Arno inserts looked almost identical to the other brand we were using, but the grind and the edge on the insert was much sharper than the other brand. The coating was also more even and the packaging was excellent. We made no speed and feed adjustments from what was being used with the other brand and we were able to get 10 pieces per edge in this bronze material. The edge held up and after those 10 pieces had some signs of wear, but it was very minimal. I would have no issues running the Arno brand of inserts again and plan to use them more as we machine more of these bronze components. My only complaint would be having to buy a package of 10, it would be nice to have the option to only get 5, especially if you needed them for a one off job.
I installed this in my CNC Mill and the clean up is so much easier!!!
I would recommend this for anyone that has a milling machine.
Put these on my 2007 Hurco three years ago and they’re still holding up great. I have done almost no maintenance on them other than cleaning the slots and using LP3 when I remove them for workholding. That means almost the entire time they’ve just been sitting in place.
Would happily buy them again. Thanks!
I have a small shop in Corona, California called IngeniumPRM. We got a rush job to make thrust chambers out of 6AL4V and had to bore a hole 10 inches deep inside of it. Everyone was super helpful getting me the tooling I needed, and this bar blew me away at what it could do. Zero harmonics, a mirror-like finish, even tool life was manageable. And if that isn't enough, the price is half what you would pay for a Sandvik or Kennametal variant. I 100% recommend this bar for any deep boring you need to achieve, and will definitely be going to them again for critical tooling needs.
I bought these a while back for one particular job. Now I try and use them as much as I can. Customer support and interaction was great.
Please make these for 8" chucks as well.
These clamps work great and in situations where no other clamps would have worked. Great holding force and opens up so many options for work holding.
Was on the fence about buying them because of the mind set of why buy what you can make . Took a leap of faith and these are something I could not have made even close to what they are . Didn’t want to scrap the project I bought them for and real glad I bought them . Great product and shipped to me the next day first class deal !
What an amazing review! Thank you so much for sharing and the stand you made is awesome!
After seeing a post on instagram from Derek I decided to order some MAQ bars. I have been using them on a long reach application cutting 8620 steel and 316 stainless. 6xD on stainless with a 3/4 bar and it cut so quiet I was amazed! It takes the guess work out of boring they just work.
Thank you for sharing! The part looks great and we're happy MAQ tools performed as well as promised.
These t-slot covers are just what I was looking for to make clean up faster. They seem to be durable and where easy to cut and install.
Bought the 5/8 t slot covers for my prototrak mill, install was easy and they keep my ways and chip guard much cleaner!
great product. anything that lets me clean less is a win for me
An excellent addition to our Haas ST-30Y. These jaws made quick clean work by keeping waste material down while gripping various sized material without issue. Come with a sticker and instructions.
Really cleaned up the look of the mill and made daily clean up a breeze
the t-slot covers i ordered worked great. i have now ordered them for 2 of my machines. great product.
Better than the aluminum cover, we previously used because they are easier to work with, don’t oxidize and are made in USA !!!!!
Our machinist suggested using these to keep our Axia table cleaner and more efficient and since they have been installed they have made a world of difference! Less time cleaning has led to happier machinist and cleaner machine but also the coolant makes the table a slippery surface and these T-Slot Covers act like non skid strips also, so safety is much better. Very worth the time and money to use the product!!
I bought the Lathe Jaws a few weeks ago and have been putting them to work holding 304 stainless round bar. They have been doing an excellent job, and saved me an 1" of material per part being able to hold onto such a small amount of material. A second bonus is they can also be used like standard lathe jaws to hold onto small diameter parts my regular hard jaws won't
We purchased the 7/8" wide T-Slot covers for a large table surface mill and it will save us a ton of time cleaning the chips out of the nook and crannies, great product, and quick delivery. Very happy so far.
We originally bought a set of four for our CNC Mill but they have never made it to the CNC side. We had a job come in that was a large bearing housing that needed to be sleeved. We couldn’t get it clamped and indicated in properly in the manual lathe. That’s when we moved to the Bridgeport manual mill. The housing rough casting and semi round on the outside with no real places to put toe clamps. We grabbed the set of Ignite clamps shimmed them off the table with some one two three blocks and used them like you would lathe chuck jaws. The way the clamps gripped and held the part while applying a positive downforce on the table was impressive to say the least. This set of clamps will be staying with our Bridgeport fixtures and we will be buying another set to use on the CNC. These clamps are far superior over the serrated style that adjust with the set screws. The downward force being applied with the bolt and wedge design of the Ignite clamps is the way to go. Next time we use them for something like this we will post a short video to show how they can be used.
First of all great product, I wish I could have found this product sooner. The amount of time I've saved will be worth it. I have them on all my mills. If your buying a piece of equipment this should be the first item then a vice. Highly recommend.
These milling machine T-Slot inserts are awesome!!! I wish I would have found these years ago. Super easy to install, and chips blow right off my table now!
